What will you learn in this course?
If you are a business analyst, manager, controlling professional or business planner, this course will help you learn how to plan and analyse the organizational performance by focusing on the strategic goals and objectives, by definition of Key Results Areas of activities (KRA) and development of relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI). You will learn how to transform the strategic goals into short term objectives and initiatives so to build the roadmap (OKR) towards achievement of the organizational strategy.
You will learn a universal approach to planning and performance analysis based on the applicaation of modern planning tools like the Business Model Canvas, KRAs, KPIs and OKRs.
At the end of the course, you will gain the necessary knowledge to recognize how do the choice of an organizational business strategy impacts the determination of KRAs, KPIs and OKRs in its business model. You will upgrade your skills by adding additional methods for business performance analysis. You will know how to develop metrics and design OKRs and KPIs related to a specific business model.

Introduction
The business model of the organization as a reflection of its mission, vision and strategy
Defining the different aspects of business through Osterwalder’s business model. Effect of the organization’s chosen strategy on the definition of the Key Result Areas (KRA) in the business model. Examples of KRAs in four innovative business models.
Analysis of the organization’s business model. Objectives and Key Results (OKRs). Metrics for evaluating the result – current and final control. Financial and non-financial indicators, general and specific indicators (KPI). Correlation between OKRs and KPIs.
Practical work
Example: Business model of Inditex. Application of analysis techniques, KRA, metrics, financial and non-financial indicators. Examples of OKRs and KPIs.
Discussion: The business models of participants’ own organizations. Illustrating the selection of KRAs according to the firms’ market success strategy.
Case study: Wizz Air. Share solutions, questions and answers.
Develop metrics, formulate OKRs and KPIs
Examples of OKRs and KPIs in four categories of innovative business models. Discussion on the relationship between long-term goals reported with KPIs, KRAs in the structure of the four business models considered, as well as OKRs for progress.
Dynamics of change and focus on short-term control and adaptation of OKRs. Principles in the application of OKR:
(1) Focus and Commitment to Priorities
(2) Vertical and horizontal coordination of goals (Alignment and Connecting for Teamwork)
(3) Ongoing monitoring of progress and flexible adaptation (Tracking for Accountability)
(4) Stretching the goals and exceeding the result (Stretch for Amazing)
Practical work
An example of a mutual relationship between the goals and expectations of the stakeholders and the organization in the business model.
Develop causality between KPIs and OKRs to monitor progress.
Examples from different industries (manufacturing, services, trade) for applying the four principles in developing OKR in the structure of the organization.
Self-paced exercises to develop cause-and-effect relationships between goals, expected results, and selection of appropriate OKRs.
